The film is based on Katherine Paterson's Newberry Medal-winning children's novel of the same title, which Gabor Csupo about to direct with Jeff Stockwell is writing the screenplay. Filming is scheduled to begin February in New Zealand for a spring 2007 release.

"Bridge to Terabithia" tells the story of an 11-year-old boy whose life is changed forever when he befriends the class outsider, a girl (Robb). Together they create the world of Terabithia, an imaginary kingdom filled with giants, trolls and other magical beings.
