"Iron Man" returned to Marvel after an unsuccessful development at New Line for two years

AceShowbiz - After more than two years being abandoned in the hand of New Line Cinema, "Iron Man" finally could go home to Marvel, as the studio has taken back its film rights. "Right now we're concentrating on finding the right creative talent," Avi Arad, CEO of Marvel Studios, remarked. "It's not a part of our slate deal, but we can raise the money to do it if we choose to. We would also have no difficulty licensing it to another studio."

Concerning the film's distribution, the company would likely team up with Paramount Pictures while also prepares to start development from scratch, commissioning a new script and possibly attaching a director. Previously, the name of Nick Cassavetes had come up last year to helm the project, but it later appeared that he had never signed any deals. Even so, as quoted from Arad, Cassavetes is still one of the candidates to direct.
