U2 Announces Support for N.American Tour

U2 has drafted Kanye West, the Arcade Fire, Patti Smith and Damian Marley as support acts for its just-underway fall North American tour

AceShowbiz - What do the like of Kanye West, Arcade Fire, Patti Smith and Damian Marley have as music performers? Well, they have all, including skills, quality, achievement and their own music styles, all of which have made them famous. Hence, it is understandable then that Irish rock band U2 interested in and recruit them all as support acts for its North American tour, which kicked off in Canada during the weekend.

Will open the first eight dates of the North American trek, starting September 12-17 with four shows in a row at Toronto's Air Canada Centre is Dashboard Confessional. Keane, in continuation, performs October 3 in Boston, and will support U2 for two Beantown shows as well as five gigs at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

The rest will all join the two already mentioned opening various dates. As for Marley, he is set to perform from October 16 in Philadelphia to November 9 in Oakland, Calif., while Smith is scheduled to appear November 21-22 when U2 returns to Madison Square Garden. Meanwhile, Arcade Fire will play November 25 in Ottawa, Ontario, and November 26, 28 in Montreal.
