Charlotte Church, who has transformed herself from child opera prodigy to pop star, has been named GQ magazine's woman of the year

AceShowbiz - GQ magazine has, at its awards ceremony held at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden hosted by Rory Bremner, decided and it's Charlotte Church whom they crown as their Woman of the Year. Not without reason that the magazine comes with Church, but it is all because of her efforts to take her voice, dubbed by critics as angelic, into a harder, more rock-star style.

GQ editor, Dylan Jones, said in a statement "Charlotte Church is our woman of the year simply because she is larger than life. She is a great singer, a tabloid giant and enjoys life to the full." In time, rapper Jay-Z also is named International Man of the Year. Pierce Brosnan, to add, picks up the Editor's Special Award, while Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music gets the Lifetime Achievement Award. Last but not least is the Outstanding Contribution Award that goes to Bob Geldof.
