AceShowbiz - Stemming from a confrontation with police during a traffic stop on February 25 when authorities stopped one of his friend for speeding at 12:45 a.m., R&B singer Gerald Levert and passenger in his car, James Austin Jr., have both pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts. Levert personally apologized in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday and admitted to charges of assault and attempted obstruction of official business. The singer was then fined $2,000 and put on probation for one year.
As for Austin, he was pleaded guilty to a felony count of assault on a police officer and a misdemeanor count of attempted obstruction of official business. Michelle Earley, Cuyahoga County assistant prosecutor, explained the assault charge against Austin was more severe because he threw a punch. Sentencing date has yet set for Austin.
