Carey Belongs to No. 1 Single Chart

For a second consecutive week Thursday, and a sixth week overall, Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" ruled Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart

For a second consecutive week Thursday and a sixth week overall, 's "We Belong Together" from her album "The Emancipation of Mimi," ruled Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. Subsequent to her was , whose "Hollaback Girl" rose two places to No. 2. Also rose two places to No. 3 on the Hot 100 was the ' "Don't Phunk With My Heart," while "American Idol" winner 's version of "Inside Your Heaven" slipped one place to No. 4. Meanwhile her Idol rival 's version of the same track dropped three places to No. 5.

Jumped four places to No. 9, was 's "Pon de Replay," followed by 's "Lose Control" featuring and Fat Man Scoop, which also jumping four places to No. 10. In addition to those, the top debut on the Hot 100 was 's version of "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'," a tune originally popularized by Nancy Sinatra.
