Pop diva Madonna has caught up in a plagiarism case bought to court by a Belgian composer, Salvatore Acquaviva

AceShowbiz - Again, famous singer caught up in a plagiarism case. This time it's hitting superstar Madonna. A Belgian composer, Salvatore Acquaviva, accuses the singer of stealing the melody from his song "My Life's Getting Nowhere" for her 1998 hit "Frozen."

Concerning the allegation, Salvatore had, on Wednesday, testified at Belgian's Mons court that Madonna lifted several bars from the song he wrote five years earlier. Madonna's lawyer Fabienne Brison denied the plagiarism accusations, saying Salvatore wants to make use on her client popularity and wealth.

Despite Salvatore claims over the similarities between his and Madonna's song melody, Fabienne insists "Just because there are similarities between two songs it doesn't mean it has been plagiarized. Nonetheless, royalties for the problematic "Frozen" have been halted until hearings on the case resume next month.
