Oprah Winfrey is going to honor African-American women who made their names in the arts, entertainment and civil rights

AceShowbiz - Generous talk show host Oprah Winfrey is going to honor legendary African-American women who made their names in the arts, entertainment and civil rights. In order to do so, she will host a woman-only luncheon, a white-tie ball and a gospel brunch in Los Angeles.

A number of stars, among others Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, John Travolta and Alicia Keys, will be invited to toast the females being honored, including Maya Angelou, Coretta Scott King, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Tina Turner and Diana Ross. Commenting on her plan, Winfrey says, "This weekend the intention is to say thank you to these extraordinary women, and let them feel all the love and gratitude they deserve."
