AceShowbiz - Argentina's former World Cup winning captain, Diego Maradona checked out of Cartagena's Medihelp clinic, Colombia on Wednesday March 9, 2005 at 5:30 in the morning, after having stomach stapling, also known as a gastric bypass surgery, reduces the stomach's capacity for holding food and bypasses part of the small intestine, forcing individuals to eat less.

Following his attempt to reduce his 267 lb pounds, which from now on be down to 165 pounds within the next 10 months, he is now on a two-week liquid diet to be followed by solid foods, Francisco Holguin, head of Cartagena's Medihelp clinic, where the operation was performed, told reporters.
